Power steering question

Alright I've gone through hell to get this repaired and it just isn't working out for the time being so my question is if I drive the thing without fluid in the lines, will it damage the car? Cause if its just muscling the thing around I have no problems with that for now.

RE: Power steering question

Good question. I think that eventually it would damage the steering rack, I don't know if it would damage it to the point of it locking up though...
Is your pump bad?
Is the rack bad?
What problems are you having with it right now?

RE: Power steering question

Well it leaks out the power steering fluid, i got replacement lines off ebay so the lines to the back are good now (they had rusted out), but I got it fixed at my garage and its leaking again...the fluid was near the engine compartment on my driveway, sort of on the driver side more. I'm pretty sure the resevoir is alright...so I guess it has to be the other lines, I just need to have something to drive until I can afford to do more repairs on this thing. Ha, finally got everything running right with the engine and this has to happen...

p.s. does anyone know where I can get the ps lines for the front compartment? cause it was a pain getting the ps lines that run to the rear wheels...
