Turbo and Transmission questions!?!?

Hi, I'm new to thisforum. I have a couple questions about a dodge stealth. Where is the turbo located/mounted in the engine (pics would be nice if you could)? Also, I've heard that the stealth's transmissions have a tendency to blow, how is this and is it true? Thanks you, Zach

If your looking at a twin turbo stealth then theres one turbo in the front of theengine and one in the rear, you cant really see them. the trany's dont blow there syncros go bad, witch makes them grind into gear.

What he said. Also, repeated hard launches can be hard on the transmission casing as well.

So is there any way for me just to look at an engine and see if it's turbo or not?

the intake says twin turbo. if you look close enough you will be able to see a turbo in the front its just very hard. im sure there are other ways i just dont know the cars that well. are you looking at one right now?

The non-turbo cars have a clear, easy to see air flow path from the intake filter box to the intake manifold. If the air pipe coming into the intake come from somewhere down near the exhaust, chances are it probably has turbo's.

ok, I think I got it, one last question though, do the back tires have anything to do with it (size wise)?

RE: Turbo and Transmission questions!?!?

I beleive the tire size is the same. The Twin Turbo (TT) cars are all wheel drive, the non-turbo cars are front wheel drive so the driveshaft to the rear wheels should be another tell-tale sign of a TT car. The twin turbo models are the Stealth R/T TT and the 3000GT VR-4 if that helps.

All 4 tires should be the same size, especially on an AWD model. I think Stealth's say something on the rear side windows about them being all wheel drive.
