Oil filled Spark Plug Holes
I have read and read on this subject but havent found anything involving a 2.5 liter with this problem. I have a 2000 Stratus with the 2.5 and the spark plug holes fill up with oil and it eventually causes the plug wire to pop up. Does the gasket set come with those seals for those spark plug wells?

Some do, some dont. Just make sure when you order a gasket set they come with them. You have to pull the valve cover off then place the seals on top of the spark plug tubes.

The 2.5's are a simple O ring seal ... So most have them in the set ...

I just did mine about a year ago. Same exact issue, I had oil pooling around my plug wires. Autozone had two sets. One had the o-rings, the other did not. The pain in the butt was taking the intake off to get to the rear 3 plugs. :(
Don't overtighten the valve cover bolts. This would be a great time to change the plugs/wires unless you've done that very recently. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/dodge-s...asket-bad.html. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/cat...andName=Felpro |
Oil in spark plug hole
Hey guys maybe you can help me out on this one. I have a 97 stratus with a 2.4 DOHC, It wouldn't start for me the other day (just turns over) so I started looking into things and discovered oil in one of my spark plug holes (#4) so thanks to your Forum I learned it was the gasket. I replaced all the gaskets and now it still won't start! Any ideas? I put new plugs in (gapped correctly). Ignition coil? Thanks for the help!
