I have a 99 Plymouth Breeze and need whlp fixing or finding a new switch that controls the fan. Heres whats going on. The fan will not blow on any settings but the high one. All the others seem dead. Also it takes a few pushes to get the A/C to engage and when you push the a/c button to disengage it pulls out very slow. Is there anything that I can do to fix this or should I just buy a new switch from Dodge? Thanks in advance.

Hi! I used to work at a Chrysler dealer, and my fiancee still does... LOL! So I know a little about some stuff...</P>


I think you need to change the BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR whichshould sellfor about $16.00+ tax at your local Chrylser dealership... that should fix the problem of the blower not working on anything but high... it might fix the a/c button too. It is something you can replace yourself, or if someone you know has the knowledge, just go tothe part department and buy it...otherwise it should take only a few hours and you'll have to pay labor at your local dealer. :) Hope this helps!!

<FONT face="Courier New, Courier, mono" color=green size=5>When that doesn't work look at getting a new a/c control head. The button sticking should have nothing to do with the resistor andyes a resistor will cause your fan to only run on high. </FONT></P>

I posted the same question just now before reading this. I have a 2000 with the same problem. I have replaced the resistor twice. Just blew a couple of days ago. Dealer said motor was pulling too much. Needs replaced. Let me know what you find out. Its getting old replacing these. Cheap though--$6.00

Just a though, but if the motor is pulling a tad too many amps ,.try getting a resistor with the same rated Ohms but with a higher amp carrying capability, and dodgewarranty is right the sticking button and the resistor arent related </P>

The sticky button could be as simple as taking the cover plate off and cleaning up the mechanism. A build up of dirt, protectant, pop that may have been spilled, anything could cause a sticking button.

Could you tell me where the resistor is located in a '98 Stratus? This is the second time it's gone out, but the first time I had it fixed when the car was in the shop for scheduled maintenance.
