So I'm thinking my 2002 Stratus SE coupe needs an SRT motor and possible conversion to manual trans. I'm just wonding how much work this will be and what it's going to take to get it done right. Any thoughts/advice will be greatly appreicated.
Thats like putting a Cobalt engine in your Neon. Sure you could make it work, but why mix and match?
Find yourself a wrecked Mitsubishi Lancer Evo and take the engine, transmission and ECU. The 01-05 Stratus and Sebring Coupes are made by Mitsubishi and is just a bigger Eclipse.

I knew the Stratus was an Eclipse and they are made by Mitsubishi, but I never thought to put the EVO engine in my Stratus.

Is that what you did? How hard was it?
Lol, no I havent but I'd like to. The Evo engine is the 4G63, the one in your coupe (Assuming you have the 4cyl) is the 4G64. Motor mounts are in the same spot.
The DOHC head will bolt right to the 4G64 and give you .4 L over an EVO. Of course, you will want to build the engine up to handle more power.
