Welcome to DF
Are you using the RTV for transmissions or a pan gasket? The torque is 12 ft pounds. Also you need to clean out all bolt holes the have silicone in them. Or you can damage the case.

The issue your having is with the pan itself. The pan bolts can easly be over torque. I just went through this. I had to do the tranny pan twice and the 2nd time is what it took to prevent the leaks. Go to rockauto. Also the new tranny pams have a bolt to flush the tranny. Pick up the gasket and also use rtv.
