Stratus Coupe SXT 2.4L - Which engine is it?
I've got a 2004 Dodge Stratus Coupe SXT with the 2.4 engine. I can't figure out which version of the engine it has (forgive my ignorance, I bought the car before I even knew what a OHC was). There's no markings on the engine cover.
Rockauto.com lists the choices as:
2.4L 2351cc L4 FI (G) SOHC
2.4L 2429cc 148cid L4 FI (J) DOHC
2.4L 2429cc 148cid L4 FI (X) DOHC
Autozone lists the choices as:
G 2.4L SFI SOHC
J 2.4L SFI DOHC PZEV
X 2.4L SFI DOHC
Wikipedia says the Coupe uses the 2351cc Mitsubishi 4G64
decodethis.com said my VIN's engine is 2.4L L4 DOHC 16V
allpar.com/mopar/vin-decoder.html listed the engine as 3.5L 6 Cyl 24 Valve SOHC!
I know I'm a newbie here, but I did my best to search many past threads for the answer before posting. I'm planning to change the timing belt, and there are different belts for the SOHC and DOHC versions.
So which is it? G, J, or X? SOHC or DOHC?
Thank you!
