2001 Stratus stopped shifting

2001 Stratus stopped shifting
Hi all! My daughter's 01 stratus 2.4l with 90k miles stopped shifting last week. It feels like it is stuck in either 1st or 2nd gear. Tranny fluid is ok. The speedometer and other instruments work fine. The MIL was illuminated so I used my cheap code reader and pulled:
P1781-od pressure switch sense circuit
P0700-TRANSMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM
I cleared the codes but the P0700 comes back 1 second after the engine is started. I don't have a way to read the tranny codes themselves. Before I take it to the shop, is there anything to try? I have read some comments from others that mentioned everything from fuses to the tranny solenoid pack to the tranny controller. Any help is much appreciated!
