2 different stratus's both seized calipers AGAIN!!
Both my little sister and my girlfriend own a 99 and 2000 stratus both 2.5l.
I had to replace my sisters rear passenger caliper about 4 months ago because it was seized. when i took it off the piston fell right out. I changed my girlfriends rear driver caliper 3 months ago. Today I get a call from both of them saying there wheel is really hot and has a burning smell. so of course I go check each one and the calipers which I just replaced with advance auto rebuilt calipers have both seized. I started thinking maybe it was something I did wrong but it is pretty straight forward and I made sure I bled the brakes after I was done. Anyone have any input on this? The parts are still under warranty so it will only cost us a set of pads but I really dont want to do this all over. |
how are the rotors? wheel hubs? struts/shocks? anything in the system that's not sitting right could be putting undue pressure on the rotor/brake/caliper system, causing uneven wear
