Default 2003 Dodge Stratus 3.0 V6 R/T

I'm new to this so I don't really know where else to post this question. I messed up my gauge cluster trying to change the color to red instead of the orange that it was. Little did I know, that there were l.e.ds that lit the gauges. Only after I took it apart did I find this out. I was just going to replace bulbs, but there were none. In taking it apart, I must have not got the dials on correctly, because now the speedo jumps directly to 35 m.p.h when I turn the key on. The gas and temp gauges both peg out to the top, and the tach doesn't even move. I found one on eBay for fairly cheap. But the advert says that it has 90,000 miles on the odometer. My long winded question is this. If I purchase it, will it show its miles, or the actual miles of MY car? Wouldn't that be stored in the cars computer?

Welcome to DF! I will move this to the Stratus section. Generally speaking, on newer cars with electronic odometers, the mileage is stored in the PCM. I replaced the cluster in my Sebring and the mileage stayed the same.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the answer. I was thinking that it would be stored in the computer, but wasn't sure. Ordered it anyway. Can't wait to get it. Thanks again.

For future reference, the mileage is stored in the cluster, not the ecu on the coupes.
