Moved to the Stratus section. Need you to provide more information please. Your question is too vague. It could be anything.

Default Dodge Stratus stalling

Sorry for being so vague but that's all it does it stalls when it hits like 20-25 miles per hour. But it all started when the a/c compressor was connected straight from the battery because the a/c compressor wasn't turning on from the main control inside from the dash. It was fine for about a week and then it started with the stalling and it actually died on me three times while idling. I checked the fuses and the relay for the a/c compressor and they were fine. I found out later on that it was the transducer sensor it wasn't sending the correct pressure information to the computer. I haven't replaced it but it hasn't died on me anymore but it still stalls when I hit the gas. So, what might the problem be?

Well if the compressor is connected straight to the battery, checking the fuses and relays does nothing since they are not in the power distribution loop any longer. Disconnect the compressor from the battery and put it back the way it was and see if the problem persists.

I did disconnect the a/c compressor from the battery and it still stalls when I hit the gas. My guess is that the time I had the a/c compressor connected directly to the battery maybe it damaged other sensors. Another thing, just this morning on my way to work the engine oil light started blinking it didn't stay on though.

Maintenance history? Mileage? Had it scanned for codes?

Just got it this February it has 99K. I did have it scanned because when I bought it had the check engine light on. it was the camshaft sensor but I did replace that.

Sorry I’m just trying to get more info. When you give it gas, it dies? From a stop or while you are driving and giv8ng it gas to speed up? Might need to check fuel pressure. May have a fuel pump going out. Also check and make sure your battery is in good condition, connections are clean and tight. Dos it start right back up when it dies? Could also be a dirty throttle body, clogged injectors, plugs....

Hello. it turns on good but when engine on when in parking it feels and sounds like it wants to shut off but it doesn't. when running i hit the gas it tries to get to first gear but slows down and stalls i take my foot off the gas and hit it again and 1st gear kicks in the same with 2nd gear. but not all the time though that's the thing. when it reaches 40+ mph it runs fine. one other thing it started to throw black smoke just noticed today. so....please help!! One thing I didn't do when I replaced the camshaft sensor, I did not reset it. So my car is acting up and the check engine light does not blink or light up. went to autozone to check for codes nothing popped up. took it to the mechanic so they could check my car with their machine but it gave no codes. they said i needed to reset the computer for it to give the codes. i don't know if it helps or makes sense.
