Well then what holds the bearing preload on your carrier? On the dana 44s, the case holds the preload on the bearings, which is why you need a case spreader.

It is a super tight fit and a bit tricky to get the carrier going back in there. I'm guessing you need to precisely press the bearings into place so that it'll be as tight as it is supposed to be.

i raised the steps on my truck, alittle measuring, cutting, and drilling and an hour later...

before:

i raised them 3 1/4" and i think it looks better...

I think its a 1/4 inch too high... you should have gone with just 3. :P JK!.... they look much better now.

ya, i was going to go 3 1/2" but the step was too close to the bottom of door, quick easy mod...

Yep, much better. Do they stick out to the side far enough to get your foot on them with them being closer to the body?
