didnt get any pics of the install , so here are a few so you gives you somewhat of an idea
only thing i have to watch out for is not to splash when putting in washer fluid
yah i know technically the cone should be pointed towards the front of the truck , but there wasnt enough room to put it that way

towed about 8000lbs up to Flag today then Moab , Utah tomorrow
between the 4.10's , keeping the overdrive on (except hills) and the intake my mileage jumped up 3mpg since the last time i towed and that was up some major hills
i was getting 6mpg now im at 9mpg
hoping i hit atleast 10 on the flat lands maybe even 11mpg (but i doubt 11 will happen lol )
oh for the most part the trans temp didnt get above 180* except for a really long incline where it got up to 205* but then dropped right back down
edit: made it to moab utah , found out in Flagstaff i was a little over filled on trans fluid so i drained some and temps stayed below 165* except some of the hills but i ended up getting 10.5mpg the rest of the way up

Nice freakin mileage!
I installed a K/N drop in and noticed a huge difference just in that. I was looking at it and the OEM piping looks like it constricts down there under the battery area. I was thinking about doing some kind of intake system that pulls between the transmission cooler it's brackets. In mine that area is protected because of the bumper on the sport.
I've been thinking about doing some kind of intake, I just want 3.5" intake all the way to the Throttle Body. I really want some kind of intake that doesn't allow any hot air in from the engine bay.
Right now I've been working on my boat, then I have some RV work I gotta do, so until then I put my head on the back burner and I'm just keeping an eye out for ideas and materials????

oh yeah the gas mileage goin up there was awesome , not so much on the way back though as i was pushing thru 60mph head wind and hills at the same time
ended up getting 6.5mpg on the way back
anyone know if there is a way to adjust shift points ? goin up a hill the truck felt like it would upshift ,id loose rpms then it would have to drop down to 40mph to downshift

I'm your new V10 clubber I guess . I just picked one up from a guy that owed me money . It runs rough like it's only firing on 5 cylinders but no ticking or knocking and the oil pressure is good so I'm optimistic . I think it is just going to be a full time mud truck or a donor for one of my other projects . I am a Dodge boy through and through . My first vehicle was an 84 D150 sb with a slant 6 , I literally drove that truck for 12 years and sold it for 500 less than I paid for it . I then had an 89 sb with a 360 , a 90 lb with a 360 and now I am a Cummins diesel junkie . I would love to keep this truck but I am not sure of it's offroad prowess when going through some 4-5' deep Florida slop . I've read all the club post and saw all the CAI pic's . Mine will be in the cab up above the dash . Any ideas on the rough running ? I'm putting a scanner on it tomorrow .

Not sure if you can adjust shift points but you can give the transmission cable a bit of adjustment. One thing I found is that the throttle body wasn't opening all the way when it was floored, so I looked to adjust the throttle lever and couldn't find any adjustment. So I grabbed the bottom of it where your foot goes and slighty bent it upward just enough so it would be fully open at full throttle. It could be a stretched cable, but whatever, I just slightly bent it. I found that problem on many trucks! I fixed that very issue with mine.
I took off the Throttle Body and cleaned the **** out of it including the IAC then replaced with a new gasket.
Then I bought a new TPS and removed the pillars on the mounts with a drill, installed and tuned it to .72 volts and cranked her down. I reset the PCM and the truck fired up like a new beast.
Replace the plugs and wires, I use cheap Champion Copper and OEM wires. Then do the rest. Also make sure you keep the #5 and #7 wires are separated by #9 wire. http://dodgeram.info/tsb/1998/18-16-98.htm http://dodgeram.info/tsb/group_18.htm

So what mods work best with the V10's? I tried searching the gen 2 forum but both v10 and 8.0 are too generic and most searches on parts or mods are for the v8 guys.
My truck is box stock so far. I have 3.55's and the first change will be to 4.10's, but what else works for these motors? Will hemifever's tuner be worth investing in?
