well im painting the truck..its got alot of chips and flaws from the last owner...i have a few questions. First off there is some bare metal showing on the cab, any extra steps i need to do for this? What are the different grits of sand paper i should use, start and end with? Do i need to primer over the sanded down paint?

Any info about it will help me, thanks guys!!

If you wanna do that in Green then I suggest you change the tailgate letters n numbers to green too so it matches. If you dont wanna change them do it in Red instead try to keep the color scheme of what you have already or you will be doing more work than you want to make it look good. Think about what you plan on doing.

Yes you need a good primer over the bare metal.

Take the time to do a little extra, you will regret it if you don't,if the chips and flaws are not bad,a filler primer may do the job, scuff the paint down till it is all dull and prep wipe and tack it down and shoot.
