jeep no start... sorta
 

so I go to fire the jeep up ( 98 GC v8) and the battery is dead. hook the booster cables to it and the 4 ways come on, I notice the "alarm" light on the dash is blinking and im sure if it had a horn that would be blaring also. So after the battery charged for a bit it will fire and stall, fire and stall. it only runs for about 15 seconds, it has to be in protect mode or something i'll bet.

I took the battery out and put it on the charger to see if it was the battery that was doing weird things to it. didn't seem to fix it.

My recollection is that there's a reset procedure for the alarm, but I can't remember exactly what it was. I seem to recall that the alarm light is also a button, but not sure - I remember that it was part of the reset. If you did things right, the alarm would go off and the truck would start. You might try asking in the dodge pickup forum for trucks around the mid to late 90's - a friend of mine had a 2500 that had an alarm system with the flashing blue light (and horn) & I recall needing to reset it a few times - my 96 Sierra had a similar system.
