Default no crank

1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee ran fine until I replaced the battery terminals because they were old and wore out. I cleaned and sanded all connections, checked relay, tried starting in neutral nothing. all the lights and windows work the engine will not turn over, I jumped the starter and it works.

Do you hear the starter relay click when you turn the key?

What engine?

sorry for the delay on response but after checking everything 10 times and going through all the fuses (fixing things as I went) none of which made it start. Frustrated I put the old battery connectors on still nothing so I got a hammer and beat both terminals and it started.
so the old adage get a bigger hammer really worked.
