Jeep Wranger/Rubicon V-8's
Does anyone else miss the V-8 in a Jeep. I've owned several CJ-7's (304) and now a new wrangler. I'm sorry the 6cyl is nice for bopn around town with the kids but I'm a die hard mud dawg, and the sound of a quietly tuned and mufflered 6 cylinder doesn't do it... Anyone else agree?

RE: Jeep Wranger/Rubicon V-8's
Well Dr Pepper, looks like I will have to repost an article I wrote on http://www.pickuptruck.com for you, on here. This sounds like the vehicle you might be looking for!
http://www.motortrend.com/motor/auto...sema_966_z.jpg Jeep Wrangler Brute American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) has a reputation for not only enhancing but reinterpreting the Jeep Wrangler. Like the Brute concept shown last year, this show vehicle suggests what the Scrambler will look like when it goes in to production next year. For those who can't wait, AEV can build one for you today. AEV will even fit the Brute with a 5.7-liter/345-horsepower Hemi V-8, which they claim will send this 4x4 from 0-60 mph in under six seconds. This vehicle carries the firm's replacement hood, five-spoke wheels, and rocker guards, along with a push bar, winch, and tonneau cover. Taken From Motor Trend. Some pictures of the Brute: http://www.aev-conversions.com/Gallery/P1010066.jpg http://www.aev-conversions.com/Gallery/P1010007.jpg http://www.aev-conversions.com/Gallery/P1010134.jpg http://www.aev-conversions.com/Gallery/P1010120.jpg Some Stats on the Brute: AEV designed the Brute for durability and real world use. The Brute features a nearly six foot long bed, built from 14 ga. steel, this bed is incredibly tough and includes built in tie downs. High Capacity models use rear air suspension for increased load carrying capability. The midship fuel tank is built from 12 ga. steel and has a capacity of 20 gallons. A full size (up to 35") spare can be carried under the bed. The Brute is designed to work as hard as you do. Standard Features Include: Frame Modification Separate Cab and Bed Conversion Custom 20 Gal. Gas Tank by TransferFlow Painted Hard Top (textured) AEV Rocker Guards (2 Piece Design) New CNC Bent Gas and Brake lines Extended Driveline OEM Carpet AEV Window Sticker Spare Tire Mounting Provisions Bed Tie Downs LED License Plate Lamp Optional Features Include: AEV 3.75" Tuned Suspension Rear Air Suspension Rear Bed Guards 285-75R16 BFG Mud Terrain Tires AEV Alloy Wheels 16x8 Front ARB Bullbar with winch mount Warn XD9000i or 9500ti Winch IPF 900, 930, or 900 HID Lights ARB Locking Differentials Front and Rear On Board Air Compressor 'Factory Look' Locker Switches 4.11, 4.56 Gear Ratio Painted Flares Seat Heaters Headlight Replacement, H4 or HID RE Long Arm Suspension Specially Designed for 117" Wheelbase 4.5", 5.5" (Four Corner Air Suspension Available with this option) Full Time 4WD (non-Rubicon models only) ARB Safari Snorkel Painted Hardtop with smooth glossy finish Power Windows and/or Door Locks Please Inquire About Other Options Taken from http://www.aev-conversions.com/Brute.html Now the Jeep Wrangler Brute is something Jeep needs in their lineup badly. Jeep has the Scrambler coming out in March or April. However, if they can't seel these things to a price similar to a Club Cab Dakota I doubt it will be a big seller. Wrangler prices are crazy, $26,000 for a somewhat loaded one? Come on. Thats just crazy! But if the Brute is powered by a 5.7L HEMI "MAGNUM" V-8, has a five-speed manual, 17" Ram 1500 wheels, and capibility like a Wrangler, Jeep could sell a bunch of them! redriderbob Source: http://forums.pickuptruck.com/showfl...rue#Post302160 |
