I purchased a 2000 dakota SLT 4.7 4X4 with a bad motor. The body and tires are in good shape and it appeared repairable. Found out that it has 200k on it and cylinder #8 had the piston rings break along with scoring the cylinder walls. I purchased a re-manufactured long block and had the transmission reworked. I have 90% put back together and looking to make sure I have all the critical items completed so nothing fatal happens with the key is turned over for the first time.
So for my first hurdle I have everything back in and getting ready to put the radiator, condensing coil. and oil cooler back in when I found that I neglected to put the transmission lines in place. I am not finding anyway to get them in without picking up the motor. Not really wanting to do that at this time and thinking I will pursue some way to cut and splice the lines so I can rout them in between the block and frame. Any comments?
