i'm driving my srt for free!!
Hey everyone i bought an srt last wensday and i singed all the papers, the one thing that i now find weird is that i remember the finance guy saying all he had to do was get the finalization from the bank the next day. he said he would call me and let me know what bank to send the money to. I told him that i live two hours from the dealer and that if something happens with the bank and they say no then i'm going to bring it back with some miles on it. he said don't wurry the bank will not say no. well now it is monday and i haven't heard from him. My wife being the smart one says don't you think you should call him b/c maybe something got messed up and i told her, right now i'm driving this car and putting miles on it and paying nothing and if the bank said no then i think the dealer would want his car back so i don't put to much more miles on it. the whole point is that i remeber a post about test driving the car and some places would not let you, and i thought it was funny i test drove it at 6 at night and took it home 2 hours later. and yes i live 168 miles from this dealer. i told them and they said don't wurry about.
I just thought it was funny and at the same time i'm wurried b/c what if the bank says no and i turn this car in at 1700 miles lol but really i want to keep it!!!! |

RE: i'm driving my srt for free!!
Thats interesting. Under normal circumstances I cant see a dealer letting a car go without knowing for sure that they're getting paid for it. I'd call them and see whats up. At the dealership I formerly worked for, approval from a loan company/bank was neccessary before the final papers were even signed. Doesn't sound as though thats the case for you. I'd definitely call....what if they end up reporting the vehicle stolen?
And on top of that. In order for insurance to go through on a new car a copy of the loan for proof of payment must be faxed to the insurance company. If the insurance company doesn't have that...you also have no insurance. |

I almost bought a WRX when I bought my SRT. They let me take the car for a weekend with dealer tags on it but they screwed up the numbers and wanted me to put an extra $1000.00 down. So on monday they got a car with 400 miles on it. Oh well.

RE: i'm driving my srt for free!!
see that's the thing all papers have been singed and i have temp regs until the new ones come in the mail.
they can't say it was stolen b/c i have my copies of all the paper work and they have my old car. well today i called the finance guy and he was busy so i had to leave a message on his voice mail. i guess ill try again tom |
RE: i'm driving my srt for free!!
Thats really odd that he would say that then. They shouldn't have had you sign the papers if in fact the bank hadn't finalized a number/APR etc. And if that is the case, that you don't have a loan yet, then you dont have insurance either. Definitely call him and see whats up and make sure everythings legit. You could be just as much in the wrong for signing the papers (which is highly unlikely but still a tiny chance). I just hope for your sake that the guy was talking out his ass and everythings all said and done :D.
Good luck, and let us know how you make out with the finance manager tomorrow. |
RE: i'm driving my srt for free!!
i called my insurance and they said until i get a new car or add a car the insurance card i have now will do if i get an accident, i'm sorry that is what the back of the card says not exact but what i understand from it. i'm calling tom to find out about the car for sure b/c i really want to but my $20 occ and Mopar BOV on, by the way was the bov hard to put on i heard some third bolt is difficult any tips for install?

RE: i'm driving my srt for free!!
third bolt sucks, but it is doable. If you have a ratcheting box wrench, it makes it a lot better.

Something similar happened when I bought my SRT-4. I was approved and out the door with it on saturday just to have them call me back the next week telling me that the financing fell through[sm=wtf.gif]. They had told me it was all go and now this. I made them give it to me at the same payments through another finance place and since it was a slightly higher intrest rate they had to lower the price of the car to do it, so I got mine for just over $20,000 when it was stickered at $21,690.:D
