srt-4 takes runner up at englishtown bfgoodrich nationals
Englishtown this weekend was a blast. I had to show up on my michelins, which I was dreading due to the lack of consistency with that much hp on a street tire. Was a great weekend though even on street tire.
With the disadvantage of not having tire compared to most others in my class, i worked my way into the semi-finals on saturday, finally losing due to a break-out, but still netted some prize money for the strong showing.
Sunday was even better. Over 120+ cars in my class, I ended up in the final round with a very seasoned racer from New Jersey. Unfortunately the street tires bit me in the ***, as his 1 second slower car still running on slicks was able to get the lead and have a flawless launch, I spun too hard comin off the line and wasn't able to make it back up. Victory to the guy from NJ was in the form of .027 seconds.
Overall I had some really strong highlights. Taking out one of the favorite guys in round 2 by running .001 off my dial in with a .023 light. New best Reaction time ever for me with a .014 light. Ran a 13.1 on my michelins... no air pressure taken out or anything, and the car isn't even tuned yet. (that one was hillarious, i was dialed in for 13.40's sandbagging it hard, they're talkin about my consistency... i had a bye run in the semi's so slammed out that 13.1 in front of 'em)
It was such a blast. I got to hang with Ara Arsalinia and the streetglow team for a bit, chatting about setups and things like that. Met alot of really cool people, and got to leave the shout outs at the end for the people that have helped me the most... Gary from howell automotive, and all the members of srtforums.com and aseclub.net
and to top it all off... to go out... doing your hobby.... and come home with more money then you left with... freakin priceless

yea, I wish you woulda been there. Not a single other srt there besting anything better then a mid-high 13 second pass....
I couldn't get it back into the 12's on street tire, i normally need my drag radials for that, but at least I was scooting better then the sti's and all down the track
