$20 Oil Catch Can for an SRT-4
When out today and visited Pep (Pimp) Boys to see if I could get the parts for the $20 oil catch can posted on another forum. I was halfway successful. After wading through tons of ricer goodies, I found the two male "barbs"...total cost $4 plus tax. Further searching failed to find the "can' part and the parts person didn't really seem interested in helping out.
After stopping at Auto Zone, and getting some gasket sealer for my BOV, I tried searching the net via Google. Linked up with a place called Jack's Small Engines and they had the part (it was a Campbell Hausfeld #MP5138) for $16.99, shipping included.
Total Cost: $21.31

I put on my $20 catch can this weekend also. I went to tractor supply (any hardware store should have it) and bought good year tubing, and the catch can was wexactly what you ordered, it was that campbell hausfeld, or something like that. All together, I spent $20.87. That campbell thing is for an air compressor. It is designed to seperate water from the air, so oil from the air should be great too.
Also, I do not think that it looks cheap, or poorly done. I think that it looks pretty professional...
P.S. there is already several spots of oil in there. It is not collecting at the bottom yet, but after one day of driving you can see quite a bit of collection if the light hits it right.

Heck, I never thought of Tractor Supply!! I'd like to go in one of their stores just to look around, I'm a country boy at heart. My GReddy can never showed any oil in the sight glass, even after 3 1/2 weeks. If you drive your car hard with a lot of boost, you'll get more oil in there faster...[sm=smiley4.gif]

The Goodyear tubing is 3/8" (9.5mm) with an SAE number of 30R7 rated at 50 psi...Auto Zone had a couple of scrap pieces they gave me, I think because I was in my (police) uniform...free coffee and donuts are great, free auto parts are even better!! [sm=smiley36.gif]

I am very, very, very easy on my car. I very seldom get on it even. about once a day, I will punch it in 2nd or 3rd gear, but never do much, so driving hard shouldn't be a factor for me.
I did zip tie it to the ac lines. I started out going all the way, under the intake, but then I had the same problem you did with your greddy; it was too close to the belt for comfort. So I ran it under the intake to the first cilender and then came out right about where the metal ac line first starts and ran it all the way up the ac line with a couple of zip ties. I think that it looks really good. Just on second, and I will go take some pics of it...

here are a few pics.
Look close at the valve cover. I have an intake ordered and when it arrives, I will post some good pics of the car. The valve cover, we painted this weekend with chrysler red engine paint. It looks awesome. I spent $4.59 on a can of paint insted of $80 on a new valve cover...
