New to the site, not to Dodge
Just purchased a 2000 Dodge Durango about a month ago as a company vehicle. As the title says, not new to Dodge. Just retired ole Bess the mini van after she was totaled in a minor auto accident. She was a good ole gal for many a year, '99 Plymouth Grand Voyager. I have to say, I hated the idea of her when we had so many children so close together that we 'had to be a mini van family', however, she did grow on meh....eventually. Alas, I digress, Ole Bess was totaled, left me in a bind to go find a new friend....this led me to the Chrysler Dealer, who sold me the totally loaded Dodge Durango, complete with leather interior. Thought I was steppin up in the world....OY VEY, well if by steppin up, I meant into a money pit, then yea.... She started running hot nearly immediately, and in this last month I have spent somewhere over 2K rooting out a bad head gasket. Which I have to say BETTER BE THE PROBLEM!!! Anyone else out there have this 4.7 L, 4 Wheel drive beast that has run hot after... AC compressor/condensor Radiator Water Pump Thermostat Heater Core Flush All new hoses Electric Fan Fan Clutch And finally 2 new gaskets as well as freshly shaved heads.... (silently whispers to self....please no one say yes!!!) Just got the Beast back from the shop today, though she ran hot in the Parking Lot, they assured me it was the fan clutch having come unattached, which they attended to and should now cause no further problems.... Looking forward to hearing from ya!!:icon_pimp: |
