Need to isolate where the noise is coming from. Big difference in sound between a main, rod, and lifter knock.

As the engine warms, the tolerances open up. Knocking once warm is a warning that things are going to go south, possibly in a big way. Might be time to start looking at a replacement motor.

How many miles on it?

it has 148,000 miles. i took a listen to the motor and on the bottom there is a little knocking sound on both sides. the top of the motor on the driver side there was a little sound on the passenger side there was a lot of knocking.

Pull off the passenger side valve cover, see if anything is obvious. :)
