Hello Dodge community,

I just purchased a 01' Durango last weekend. I am very happy with it. I am joining in hopes to get tips on possible future mods.

My primary interest is my SS and the wife carts the kids around in the Dodge. We traded in a 95 GMC Jimmy which had alot of negative equity due to its mileage and condition but in the end got a decent deal on the Durango which is just a shade under 36K miles.

So if anyone has links to modding a 4.7 liter please share. Thanks and you will be seeing me around...

4.7 235 HP motor. From the research I have done they ousted the 5.2 in favor of the 4.7. The 5.2 were rated at 230HP I beleive. I would like to open up the intake some and perhaps some exhaust work. Nothing fancy just some cheap mods for now.

intake does improve major on the 4.7s. I have a airaid kit but everyone says to go with the k and n kit either way you'll notice a difference. good luck with the mods.

for the 4.7 people are seeing the best gains from an Intence performance stage two set up!

Like I tell every one...when you modding performance...the better your motor can breathe the better gains you get!

Your first 4 mods should be a Cold air intake (intense performance), a good exhaust system (magnaflow, flowmaster and so on), then Headers (Flo-tech is a good inexpencive brand), and finaly a ported throtle bodie (www.thefastman.com)

let me know if you need more info!!

Sweet, I am loving the Stage 3. Anyone try to make a homemade kit out of PVC and flexible tubeing?
