dodge caravan 2000 won't start until accelarator pedal is pushed
I have a 2000 dodge Grand Caravan it used to start on the coldest winter day even after sitting for a week or 2 without a problem first try.
Even if i tried starting it from the passengers seat it would start no problem. Now i have a problem where it has a strong turn over but wont idle unless i press the gas pedal for a few seconds until it idles on its own i then wait until another 10 to 15 minutes until its fully warmed up otherwise it stalls out when making a turn or coming to a stop. However if i'm running around during the day with breaks of even up to 4 to 5 hours it starts up back with no problem. I already did a simple tune up replaced the plugs wires and air filter still happens My mechanics says he thinks its the air sensor ? i don't think its the gas pump because it accelarates ok Does anyone have any ideas for me could it be the throttle body needs cleaning? Also could it be a fuel problem ? i have been buying the cheaper reg fuel from HESS i used to buy from Shell . Hess uses bio fuel additives and dodge recommends Unleaded fuel only? Do you thing the changing the fuel filter or adding additives to the fuel or a fuel system cleaner might help might help? I'm open to suggestions please let me hear your comments :icon_frown: |
