Ford takes on 300C

With the SHO TAurus. Boasting faster acceleration more horsepower and better fuel mileage.

Blech. Looks like a Toyota. Or some other boring midsize sedan. I hear good things about the ecoboost v-6 they just wasted it on a turd sedan. Seems like it'd be a good option for a new SVT Mustang, something a little more European flavored and sportscar oriented as opposed to the muscle car flavor of the GTs, Cobras, etc. OR, a new Probe would be nice so that Ford could at least have one other vehicle that isnt boring.

And notice that they compared it to the 5.7 300C. This is the maxed out Taurus, why didnt they compare it to the maxed out 300? Oh, prolly because it'd be getting its crappy ass spanked.

well thats b/c the srt-8 prolly starts at a lot more..would be my guess or easy marketing...i dunno.

The new Taurus is a beautiful car and I like it more than the 300.

Sorry. Ford is designing some great looking vehicles.

And their quality is supposed to have improved.
And they didn't take my tax money.

If I was in the market for a new vehicle, I would test-drive a Ford.

Yeah, I have to agree Ford is on the right track ...they are designing some exciting new cars. And taking the sales when everyone else hasnt. Plus they are making the 300 hp hatch that looks absolutely fun to drive.

The 2011 411hp 5.0 Mustang GT is gonna put a hurtin' on the SRT8 Challenger if Dodge doesn't up the ante!!
I saw a new SHO yesterday. Not bad, Looks better than the last gen 500/Taurus platform.
The eco-boost set-up is supposed to be going in the F150 sometime in the near future.

Dodge needs to go back to the drawing board with the Challenger if they really wanna compete.

I will respectfully disagree. The Challenger styling and power are perfect. It needs to lose about 800# and it would be perfect. The Mustang has always been a poseurs car. 411 hp is still a long way short of the SRT8's 425 hp. Even now, if you want a Mustang that can compete with an SRT8 you have to pay $50k+ for the Shelby GT500. One last thought, the designer of the Challenger SRT8 said (at it's intro) that 425hp was the starting point for the car and that 500hp was achieved w/o significant modification to the stock 6.1L. I think some folks have been smoking Dearborn grass.

Do you know what must be sacrificed to knock 800 pounds off of that beast? It would be like an old Plymouth after that and it wouldn't appeal to the average consumer.
