Default GM is slashing the MSRP prices

http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/060111/general_motors.html?.v=2

This hit the news today, I hope Chrysler will do the same so they can get the vehicles I want in the price range I want to spend.

They already did this in Canada a while ago...really all they are doing is taking the bargaining out of buying a car...

Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep MSRP's are lower than they were 2 years ago. An SXT Grand Caravan is $2000 less than the comparable ES in 2004. But the rebates are better than before. The thing to watch for is if GM keeps the rebates the same or they lower rebates too. If they lower rebate amounts, the final prices will be the same.

I think i read that what they are doing is making the msrp actually more like the real price to end confusion with all the rebates and other bs discounts

I have now heard from a GM dealership that they are lowering MSRP's, invoice prices and rebates. The net effect final prices will essentially be the same.

GM is in deep poop. When they start talking about slashing top executive salaries, (and cutting less and less the lower the pay gets for the rest of the workers) they are in a major financial crisis. Bankruptcy wouldn't surprise me at all.....

It's all perception when it comes to a good deal or not. Does anyone really know what a good deal is on a car? Anyone ever tell you they could have gotten one cheaper, for you, somewhere else?
