Here in SoAz, Craigslist has 3 late 90's Escort wagons. 127k miles-$1950, 107k miles-$1450 and 70k miles-$1400.

I wish I got a deal like I did on my last car, I bought it from a woman who got it through a divorce then sold it to me (I got the husbands car and he doesn't like me anymore) but it was never winter driven, no rust, only 100K on it and it was a 94 stang 3.8 auto for $2500 canadian dollars.

for $2k there's no reason you should be stuck with 90's crap. You should be able to find a 2000+ neon.

I don't know where in NS you live, so I just used halifax to search

Here's a nice one in Kingston, NS http://halifax.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehi...AdIdZ142262054
Here's one in Enfield, NS http://halifax.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehi...AdIdZ141202694
Dartmouth, NS http://halifax.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehi...AdIdZ141222610

Well, the two criteria given was 1) $2k> 2) Station wagon. Neon had been thrown out there, leaving late 90's Escort/Tracer as the main thing that would fit the criteria. If you can get a Focus wagon under $2k, that runs-at all, jump on it. But also plan on fixing something major right away after purchase.
