Default I-75 Is Burning

Left a cruise night in my '37 just after 8pm. I looked down John R and saw a column of black smoke that was 8 miles away. A tanker truck exploded on I-75 at nine mile road. Heard it had 9600 gallons of gas and 4000 gallons of diesel. Don't know how accurate that is. The heat of the fire caused the overpass on 9 mile to collapse onto I-75.

From 4 1/2 miles away.

Half mile away.

Around the corner.

Few hundred feet away.

Tankers normal only carry gas or diesel. Gallons sound kind high as well.

That was the report from the radio when i got home. City, county, and state are already argueing about who is going to do the cleanup. EPA is on scene. Story I'm hearing now is that there was an accident in front of the tanker. When he tried to stop, he was hit from behind by a semi. Son is stuck on scene all night.

My son. He's a cop in the neighboring city. He works midnights, but got called in early. Didn't get back home until 10:30 this morning.

If it burns down Detroit, no one would care.
