I think that protesting against soldiers and funerals is just plain disgraceful, and those few idiots really give an unfair bad name and reputation to those against the war. It's really unfortunate too, because there is a really good message hidden by the stupidity. Being against the war, isn't supposed to mean being against the people that fight in your stead.

Thank you for posting this about Sergeant First Class John C. Beale. He deserves our highest respect and gratitude, as does everyone in the military. My thoughts are with him and his family.

I'm not sure why this awesome military memorial thread turned south. I will say this, there is a bond between those who put themselves in harms way.

"It is the soldier, not the reporter, Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the soldier, not the poet, Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the soldier, not the organizer, Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
It is the soldier, Who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag, Who allows the protestor to burn the flag."
- Father Dennis Edward O'Brian, USMC

"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers. For he today that sheds his blood with me, Shall be my brother; be ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition. And gentlemen in England now abed, Shall think themselves accursed they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks, That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day." - William Shakespeare
