Just wait, mothers day was my wifes best present ever. She decided she was going to sleep all night.... she was 1.5 to 2 months old when our little girl did that. She still does it at 5 months.

So, as I would only expect, our newborn sleeps peacefully for 2-3 hour blocks during the day and 45 min to an hour long blocks at night.

Sleep deprived, I love it anyway.

No. A natural birth is an experience for mom. An epidural will numb her from the waist down and pain killers make her loopy. For our first, my wife was really out of it and barely knew she had a child by the end. With a natural birth, drugs are not used and mom gets to experience child birth for what it really is. The contractions for the first 9 hours of true labor were painful, but manageable. The last two hours were very painful, but she pushed through it. The result was an experience like no other; she gave birth fully aware of what was going on and was able to interact with our baby for her first moments in her new world. It was something we both wanted to experience and was very rewarding. My wife and I are even closer know that we did it.
