Default Anyone collect anything?

Just wanted to see if anyone out there collects kool odd stuff? I collect scale model construction equipment. I'm a huge collector of bobcat stuff I like them best. I think its time so start collecting agin. I only have 7 of them but 2 are no longer made and the other one only 5,000 were made. All of my stuff is 1:25 scale or bigger. Some is 1:16 scale. 1 case bobcat and there 580m backhoe. I'm also in the market for some cases to put them in to keep them clean. So what do you collect?

About 2 years ago, I started gathering Steelers stuff. So far, I got 3 bobbleheads, 2 action figures that have stands for posing, a framed SI cover for the wall, a beach towel that is on the wall, the Super Bowl SI pack with a football, DVD, and a plaque, another plaque with the team from the late 90's, some little foam footballs, and a few other things. Everything right now is in my sons room and when I get more and he gets older, it will be displayed a little better than on a shelf 1 foot from the ceiling where he can't touch it now.. LOL

I also have some old football and baseball cards from the late 80's and early 90's. The comic book when Superman dies (purchased in 1993), and I bought probably 50 packs of football cards over the past year that I am going to give my son when he gets older to open as a gift.

Other than that, I really don't look for stuff. If I come across something, I'll buy it.

Mopars

Cars aside, I collect old military firearms (mostly WWI and WWII) from around the world. I love learning the history behind their design and adoption. And man, if they could speak. Right now it is a fairly modest collection of about 40 weapons from 14 nations. Some of the designs (like the Swiss Schmidt-Rubin) are really unique, while the ubiquitous Mauser design was adopted by half the countries in the world (including the US) with only minor changes from the original pattern. Guns like the Nagant 1895 revolver or P08 Luger represent impressive but impractical engineering, while others like the Soviet Mosin-Nagant 1891 or British Sten we're designed only to be functional, not ergonomic or aesthetically pleasing.

I'd have to be very wealthy to acquire one of each from every country (we're talking hundreds of guns, some worth many of thousands of dollars), so I don't think this collection will be completed in my lifetime. But it's fun.
