ok all you cigar smokers, i've smoked a few (black and milds are my favorite but i've also smoked the 20-40$ ones) and i still can't wrap my mind around how people can smoke those big fat ones that smell like dirt and *** combined and taste like stale cigs mixed with manure. someone explain how one would acquire a taste for them? maybe eating too many mud pies in your youth?

depends, on the cigar, brand of course, all the different types of wrappers and fillers. ive lit some cigars that were so nasty i put them out right away, and its happened more than once...also it depends on how well the humidity was maintained. theres nothing worse than a stale cigar...i lit a drew estate that was a little to dry and it made me so sick..same as a cohiba my girlfriends dad gave me..he kept it on a shelf instead of a humidor, we smoked em and they were beyond nasty....theres many different reasons why they could taste like ***....almost any conneticut wrapper is a smooth cigar that will taste good. ive heard the new CAIN by olivia is an amazing tasting cigar i have 2 in my humidor wainting a few weeks before i try it out..

All personal preference, to me cigarettes are the ones that smell like *** and taste horrible but I enjoy an occasional cigar.

Arturo Fuente 8-5-8s and Macanudo 8-9-8s are great, mid-priced, cigars IMO.

For those of you just getting a taste for smoking cigars, find a website or local smoke shop that sells "seconds". They are cigars that have imperfections in the wrapper and are much cheaper.
