I have full coverage because the bank tells me I have to. But I would have it anyways on a newer car. If the car was older and only worth a couple grand I would just get liability. Also if you are going to totally mod you might want to check with your insurance company. Full coverage may not cover modded parts. By law you have to have liability to cover if you hit someone else.

It depends on the value of the car, if you get a car for $500 and its gonna cost $600 a year for liability, its not worth it for full coverage.

That is a good point. Why pay more for insurance than the car? Just think how much you could save that way. Now if the car is worth several thousand dollars, go full. That is what I have.

Wow! i guess i better tell my dad thanks! never had to price car insurance, he gives us a dealer plate, family members can be on his insurance, nice because i can put the dealer plate on anything, been lucky have not had any accidents, guess insurance can be costly! Rand

Insurance is a gamble. If you have it, you're betting you're going to have an accident. The insurance company is betting you won't (and if you do, it won't cost them more than you've paid them in premiums). Do you feel lucky?

I have full coverage for both the Ram and the Evo. Just because of people like Nickoman and because they're both still under payments. But they'll stay under full coverage even when they're paid off. Just not worth it to me to do less.
