Default Trailer tire thoughts

I got my sled trailer out and started working on it. I noticed the tires are cracked really bad (no I didnt cover them-should of). They are about a 1 1/2 years old. I went to the tire store and they they cant do much about it. The existing are 20.5x8-10 (8" wide, 10" rim, 1100lbs at 50psi). The tire shop suggested I put 530-12 tires on it (4-5" wide, 12" rim, 1050 at 80psi). They quoted my $80 for the wheels and tires. Anybody have any thoughts. I will not use the cracked tires this winter. The new tires are about an inch or two taller. Short and fat or tall and skinny? Thanks
