No, I ain't caught one since I moved south from upstate NY. I have fished a couple lakes in the north Ga. mountains that had them, but there numbers are small in relation there and my catches were always largemouth and a few spotted bass mixed in.

I've always planned a trip to Tennessee or Kentucky to camp and catch smallmouths, just haven't made it yet...
if you're going to the tennesee/kentucky area then you ought to check out land between the lakes just outside of clarksville tennesee. you could make a nice vacation of light wheeling and fishing.

i just glanced at the sites so they might all have the same stuff on them. either way, check them out.

yeah I stayed up there once with the ex Mrs. Hammer a few years back, just overnight en route to Chicago to see her family. Beautiful area.

Tried to get out yesterday but the winds were a steady 35 mph with gusts to 45 and heavy rain in bands off and on. Said f*ck this and never launched the boat. Did catch a few bass off the dock though in about 20 mins.
