Call of Duty 2 was hands down the best... followed by COD4... then WaW...

If not for stupid perks and killstreaks... MW2 would be fav game of all time.

Cod 2 was pretty good but I was much more a fan of the original and the expansion to the original than I was of 2.

MW2 had one of the more polished and impressive single player campaigns I've played in a shooter, I don't know if I'd put it at the top but it's certainly up among them. The multiplayer is fun but it doesn't stand out at the same level to me. Never played COD2 and hardly played 4 so I can't comment much on those. I will say that **** Zombies in WaW was some of the most fun I've had on LIVE.

I hated the single player campaign in MW2. It was so outlandish and unrealistic even for a video game. Russia invading the United States just seemed so ridiculous to me. I thought the single player portion of COD4 was much more believable.

To be fair I don't often look for realism in my shooters.

I wasn't referring to realistic gameplay by any means. Call of Duty is about as far from realism as it gets. I was referring to the story which to me is just so outlandish and utterly unbelievable. COD4 I thought had a great storyline. It seemed to me like something that could at least be fathomable. MW2's story is just ridiculous. Would the country of Russia really stage an invasion of the United States based on a suspicion that a terrorist was in fact an American? I think they went more for shock factor and meshed the story together too quickly in MW2. The other thing that bothered me was the whole General Sheperd angle of the story as well as well as killing off Ghost and Roach.

Don't get me wrong I enjoyed playing the single player campaign but I couldn't help but laugh at some of it.

Well, I'm saying that I would believe the MW story, before BC2.

As far as gameplay, yes BC2 has the realistic movement and shooting... but as far as damage, that's MW.

BC2's story is very outlandish but that fits the charm of the game. It's supposed to be kind of like a B Action Movie.
