It's the same type of thing on gun forums. Shotty for shotgun, Remmy for Remington, stuff like that. I can't stand it either, so don't feel alone. Hell, reading ANY internet forum can make me grit my teeth and want to slap people with a brick. The number of folks out there who are apparently barely literate astounds me. No punctuation, wrong words used (to, too, two, as an example) just makes it obvious why some other countries look at Americans as complete, blithering idiots.

Expecting good grammar, accurate punctuation, proper syntax, spelling, etc, on an internet forum is sure to lead to disappointment......

Yes, it sure does.

While it doesn't keep me from reading internet forums, there are some posts that I absolutely refuse to try to decipher as it can be an exercise in futility.

That's quite true.... some are just such a random collection of letters, as to defy decoding..... and not even punctuation would be of any benefit....... what's REALLY depressing is, such posts were ostensibly written by english speaking people......

If you like stupidity that brings down the mentality of this place then great.
Dizzy is not an abbreviation of Distributor. Maybe Dist is.
But if Dizzy floats your boat as acceptable, Maybe we're not in the same class.
I for one would like to keep this forum looking like a reputable place even though I am new here.
There is way too many terrible forums with which to destroy the English language.

My philosophy on that is: Pick battles you can expect to win.... This ain't one of 'em. Being doing this kind of thing far too long to come to any other conclusion.

Exactly. What's really scary is, I understood most of that.
