Sorry not the west coast, but used to fish the Lake Huron when I lived there. WHat did that one weigh? I'll take a guess and say around 15 lbs. Nice fish

I never weighed it, but it was somewhere around 33 inches long. A couple of years back I had the chance to catch a 55" sturgeon out of the same river (Sacramento River), that was quite a fight. I hang my head in shame... hardly fished at all this year with the biggest day on Memorial day weekend, caught 4 good size trout.... damn I work too much.

I know exactly how you feel. Usually, I get to the mountains at least once a month from March through October. I've only been once so far this year, but it was a great trip. I close friend is a guide in the Asheville NC area and does float trips. We floated the Watuaga river in TN and I caught my personal best on a flyrod trout, about 4.5 LBS. I've seen and missed bigger trout in that river though.

the sad part is the river is only 15 minutes from my house (for stureon, strippers & salmon). The trout in the mountains are only 90 minutes or so away. the 1st 2 pic's in my other thread asking for pics of America is one of my favorite spots & is real easy to get to. but you have to hike in about a mile or so. I pulled 2 nice size trout out of 1 "pond" that no-one thought there were any fish in because it freezes in the winter & it was so small. I was shocked when I saw the size of it.

this weekend I'm heading out to the delta (1000 miles of waterways) to camp with my brother & his family. Definately gonna bring the poles

Right on!! let us know how the catch is. A friend of mine went out of San Francisco & came back with his limit. Hopefully when they move up river the fishing will be good.
