Hyper-Pak
#2
The Hyper-Pak was basically a 4BBL on a long runner manifold and 10.5:1 compression.
Here is some info on it:

Thank you for your help. But is there a way to get my compression down so that I can maybe a add a turbo in the future?

No, he means a 4 barrell intake manifold for the slant six. They are available from many sources, Mopar, Mancini racing, probably Year One too. I had such a set up on a '66 slant six Dart...not an original Hyper Pak, but a JC Whittney catalog order. Just the intake, small 4 barrell and still single exhaust and it woke it up a lot! No change in the bottom end of motor at all. I'd start with that, then build on. They make a header for the slant six which I would advise doing at the same time to maximize your efforts.

When I built mine I used a Clifford Research intake with a split (dual type) header setup. I ran a full 2" dual exhaust to the rear, and that thing would fool a lot of people. I ran a 625cfm carb and it worked quite well with the stock motor. A cable operated choke setup is a must as there is no provision for a heat riser on that type of a set up. Throttle linkage may need to be field engineered, but with a little imagination and a huge stash of miscellaneous parts and brackets it can be done. Good luck.

iam not sure. i DO know it wasnt a 225. the site allpar should have the that info. just went to allpar , listed as the chrysler engineers worked over a 170 ci to make the hyper-pack. in 1959. nascar held some races for compact cars, new for 1960. the slant won so many races nascar said that, racing compact races was over. thats the way it all ways once chrysler cars start wining they outlaw chryslers.

i modded one with a 318 2 bdl. by grinding the raised 1 bdl pad flush and make a plate to fit the 2 bdl. and bolt to the stock manifold with flush screws. DO NOT weld to the stock manifold, it WILL warp the runners. the MOST important thing is to be sure the throttle linkage does NOT stick open, be TOTALLY sure it does NOT stick open. and be sure the shaft of the carb points front to back like the crankshaft.
