Hey this is for you 2002 ram, dakota, and durango guys with the 45rfe transmission. This is a TCM out of a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee part number 56041905AD. By swapping out the TCM in your truck you will be upgrading to the newer 5-45rfe transmission and pick up the 5th gear. This TCM came out of a jeep with less than 60,000 miles and is in excellent shape. This is a five minute swap and is completely plug and play. This is also completely compatiable with superchips. 70.00 shipped to your door.
I am not understanding how this TCM swap works? Your saying it uses 5th gear? Mine is only a 4 speed. Do you mean 5th as in lock-up? Will this keep my trans in lock-up with moderate loading? Will this also work with the shift kit? Please explain how this will change the operation.

Ok I'll try to explain the best I can and I will post a link. Dodge used the 45-rfe transmission in with 2002 and possibly some 2001's. In 2003 all these vehicles got the 545-rfe transmission which had a second overdrive and decreased rpm by an addition 400 to 500 rpm. However the 45-rfe trans and the 545-rfe trans is the exact same trans dodge just didn't take the time to program in the second overdrive. You couldn't just swap computers with a 2003 because the PCM & TCM where one unit and in 2002 PCM & TCM where separte. However, late in the model year some jeeps TCM's where upgraded to the 545-rfe program. This is simply a TCM from one of those jeeps and you just swap it in. Since the only difference is computer controlled solenoid operation shift kit will work the same as it did before. All other trans operation will be the same with just a greater overall reduction in rpm in overdrive. Here is the link.
