one fault that ive seen with the slobalt is a similar fault that ive seen with the srt4...is the lack of the good driver mod...but thats more an issue from the line, not from a roll....

and as for the NA 3800 SII, they are fairly even-to-slower than my stratus...so i really dont think that him beating one up would be that unusual...danny, what engine is in the impala? i think that they have the 3400...

What year Impala? The more recent ones are using a 3.5L VVT motor as a base, followed up with a 3.9L and a 5.3L V8.....

Pat, normally I would agree with you, but having grown up with Buicks, I can honestly say this for a fact.....it really, really depends on what year/model Regal he ran.....the more recent 2000 LS models and up were on par with our Stratus R/T's as far as speed.....and the only noticable difference between the LS and GS models were the letters.....so you wouldnt even know if it was S/C'd or not without paying attention. The GS models came with the SC.

2003 Chevrolet Impala
Base price: $21,820
Engine: 3.8-liter V-6, 200 hp
Drivetrain: Four-speed automatic transmission, front-wheel drive
Length x width x height: 200.0 x 73.0 x 57.3 in
Wheelbase: 110.5 in
Curb weight: 3465 lb
EPA (city/hwy): 19/29 mpg
Safety equipment: Dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system
Top Speed: 124 mph
lbs per hp: 17.33

2002 Stratus R/T
Base price: $25,615
Engine: 3.0-liter V-6, 200 hp
Drivetrain: Four-speed automatic transmission, front-wheel drive
Length x width x height: 200.0 x 73.0 x 57.3 in
Wheelbase: 103.7 in
Curb weight: 3254 lb
EPA (city/hwy): 20/29 mpg
Safety equipment: Dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system
Top Speed: 145+ mph
lbs per hp: 16.27

The impala same amout of power as the stratus...heavier car..and its governed. the 03 buick regal weighs 3461lbs. The new impala has more power with each of the V6 engines, but it also weighs more than the prior generation.

another thing, i would bet that the trans gearing of the auto RT is more aggressive than the impala or the buick...DR, your car should have no problem making very short work of the 2000-2003 impala....i cant find a time for them anywhere, but unless they have forced induction, the 3800 SII engines should be more of competition for the ramcharger than the RT...

+1
Our impala is peppy and 3.8 good motor and all, but there is no way it can run with a stratus R/T.

Pat, my Impala has the 3400. it has a hard time getting out of its own way. I've driven a 3.8 Impala, and probably hundreds of regals with teh 3800 SII. My Grand Prix was quicker than the regal or Impala. i think it had to do with teh shift maps and how the car was tuned from teh factory. Pontiac is supposed to be GM's sporty division, so they made teh GP a little quicker. Having seen the times from your stratus, I would put my GP right around there, with teh Regal being a tick or two slower. I guess I shouldn't have called BS on teh regal, its possible that he beat the Regal, but I doubt he "blew past it" if they started at teh same green light. As far as teh Cobalt, I still say no way on that one.
