I hope this guy wasn't trying......

Okay, so I was on the highway cruising around town. So I'm in the fast lane and there is this BMW 325Ci in front of me just dinkin around. So I flick my lights at him to gesture to get out my way, I didn't really want to race him I just wanted him to move out of my way. Well he apparently thinks I want to race or something so all of sudden he starts to pull away. So I dropped it into fourth gear (was rollin at about 70mph, should of used 3rd gear oh well) and was gaining on him very quick. Then I pulled in the lane next to him now rolling at about 90 and just punched 4th gear up to about 105 and I was gone. He didn't try to keep up, plus I changed highways. I really hope this dude wasn't trying because otherwise he just got smoked by a SOHC neon with almost a bone stock 132hp motor. But he definitely floored it when I flicked the lights at him and I was all over him in a matter of seconds. These 325's have a little under 200 horse right?

well, if it was an automatic, there is a good chance that you coudl hang with him or her...the bimmer autos are definately not geared towards high perf. and i think 200hp for them sounds about right, but it is also heavier than your car, i believe.

yeah, i just looked at bmw's site, 184hp. 0-60 in 7.1 in a manual, which is a bit faster than my car is. 0-60 on the auto is 8.1 which is close to what mine does 0-60 so I'm guessing it was an auto. I was just like whatever dude, 14k car toasts the car that costs 30k.

The 325's are VERY slow. Nice kill tho. But, maybe he bought the car for quality feel, and luxury, not performance.

Either way, nice job.[sm=smiley20.gif] I would say that they probably were trying.;)

Yeah I think they were trying as well because if they weren't why would they have gunned it up to 90? The speed limit in there is 55. A normal person who wasn't trying to race wouldn't of sped up like that. Either way I'm just happy I could hang with it, if not be a little quicker than it.

And to think, there's plenty more in there waiting to get out. My R/T had plenty more to get out of it still, even though I had a decent amount done to it, and the larger throttle body and Indy intake were a few of the ones on my to do list. Oh well, I now have far better, though I still wanted to make the R/T into a 13 sec. ride.
