I saw a car at the track, but I don't know what it was.

Help me! I'm good with recognizing cars (I know what Gordon Keebles, NSUs, Morgans, and Marcos are), but for the life of me, I can't figure out what kind of car I saw on the track the other day. I'm pretty sure it was a mid engined car (long back end, 2 doors, very short nose) that was silver and had a really weird exhaust setup. It has four pipes coming straight out of the bumper that formed a square shape. They were all together smack in the middle of the back end of this car. It had 4 tailights, all small round circles. The tailights (top 2 lights) were closer to the middle of the car and above the reverse lights that were slightly out towards the wheels. The car looked (from 40 feet away) like it was stock, and was finished a lot better than most kit cars I've seen. It looks like a factory car. The only thing I saw from the back was 7.3 (which I assume is engine size?)

This car was damn loud, and sounded like a modded V12 to me. It was a 2WD car for sure, and it had a big spoiler in the back. It ran a freakin' 8.882 at the 1/4 mile, but I didn't ever get up close to it afterwards. I haven't seen it again since.

I know for sure it was not:
NSX
Any Ferrari
Ford GT
Lotus Esprit
Nissan R390
Lotus Elise
Toyota MR2
Any Lamborghini, unless the new ones are like the ones above.
or Porsche.

What the hell was it? I'm so confused. I've never seen anything like it before, and I wish I could see it again. It was pretty looking. I'm hoping you guys can help.

Maybe a Saleen S7? They have a 7 litre twin turbo v8 putting out an advertised 750hp. Saleen claims 10.5@145mph 1/4 mile times, 0-60 in less than 3 seconds.. google saleen s7 for more info.

It wasn't an S7. It was a little shorter and not as sleek.

Hey!! That was it!!

I just looked up Pagani Zonda C12, and sure enough, that was the car I saw. Where hell do find those? I've never heard of a Pagani dealership before.

i cant believe that it ran those times..while they have the power to do so, they dont have the gearing...

I only know of them b/c of the video game gran turismo 3 & 4. They are an It alian made supercar. I guess if you had the $300,000 to $400,000 to buy one, you'd have to go get it from Italy. Yeah, it is geared more for top speed than 1/4 mile. I've only seen them on tv and in games.

I've seen a Mitsu Evo 7 run a 9.3 1/4 mile that had 515 hp at the wheels. I know it was geared shorter, and it was AWD, but it only had 500 hp as opposed to a 7.3 Zonda, which can run 1100 hp when tuned. Hehe, I've been doing a lot of research on these cars since I've found out about them.
