1985 ram charger no spark.
I have a 1985 ramcharger with a 318. 2wd. It needed a new starter so it sat for about 6 months. I put a new starter in it about a month ago. And now it has no spark. The truck ran great when I parked it last. It just needed a starter. And now that it has a new one. I can’t get it running. Where do I start? Really wanting to get it running again. Thanks.

A few things you can check...
>put a test light on the coil to see if there is power (with key on)
>Remove the ECM and be sure its ground (under the mounting screws) is good.
> check to see that the ballast resistor is warm/hot with the key on for a few minutes
Both the B/R and ECM are shown in the picture... my '79 D100

In my picture the ballast resistor is that white block on the upper right. and the ECU/ECM is on the left diagonally. See the picture.
This is the normal ignition set up, but there are other configurations. You need to post a picture of what you have....
.so we know we are on the same page.
