That's just bizarre. :) Could be a bad connection somewhere, but, it is likely in the cluster itself. Moving it around may have cured it, but, that's a problem I would expect to see come back at some...

Do a cluster test. Hold in the Trip Reset button, and turn the ignition On. (not start) Make sure all lights come on, and all gauges go thru their full sweep.

Think I would have another cluster on hand, just in case the 'fix' isn't really possible. Dodge says "no user serviceable parts" inside, but, ya just never know. Worth a look at any rate.

Clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, and whatever your truck uses for a pilot bushing. (in the end of the crankshaft, that the trans input shaft sticks into, to brace it.

When the system is empty, the compressor won't run. Need to feed refrigerant to the low pressure side, and once there is enough in there, the compressor will start cycling, and will draw in more.

This. :) Makes life much easier. I just put a very thin coat on both sides of the gasket. Helps seal up some of the irregularities you often find on the sealing surfaces.
