With the 4.7 you either have the 3.55 or the 3.92 gear. A quad cab, 4x2 with 3.55 is rated to tow 5500lbs. The 3.92 models are rated at 7000lbs. You are rated to pull it but maybe not rated to stop...

I can't think of any reason for these to be related other than one of the trans cooler lines near the radiator got pinched in the process or you are coincidentally low of trans fluid.

Seems obvious enough. If it wasn't making noise before the accident and it is now I would put a 99.9% chance it is related.

I'll have to agree a bit.

I'm on my fifth Dakota and they've all been extremely reliable. The first one had the 5.2, all the rest were 4.7 models.

Have never been left stranded by any of them. The last two went 250k+ miles...
