All back together! Took longer than I thought. It runs really good, nice and smooth. There was a squeal in the belt drive I couldn't find. Glad to have it gone.

Looks good. I see you went with the new tube for the heater return line into the water pump. Mine literally fell apart when I pulled it doing the same job.

Ours was pretty stiff yet but there was no way to get it out without wrecking it. I think the tube came with the new Gates pump.

The EGR is acting up now. This was the first trip long enough to activate it I guess. My wife was taking a transfer case to get rebuilt for my daughter's truck and the check engine light came on. The valve works when vacuum is applied. They thought maybe I had the control valve backwards and switched it, but the light came on again while going home. May the control valve is bad? I'll post a picture from my phone.

Looking at the picture, I doubt I hooked it up wrong. I did break some plastic lines, but pretty sure I got the right ones back together.

Make sure you are getting vacuum to the control valve.

Sometimes, the passage in the intake clogs up with crap, and that will set an EGR code.... Think you need a pretty high-zoot scanner to monitor egr function while you are driving.....

I'll check for vacuum next time I'm home or have them check if we take it to a shop. To cold to ask my wife to mess with it. I have access to a Snap On 2500 when I get home. My daughter took it to school and the light didn't come on. Probably not a long enough straight stretch as cold as it is. It's still running really good. I cleaned the manifold up when it was off, but never checked the vacuum ports. Thank you. What does the vacuum line going to the bottom of the EGR valve do?

If you look at the last picture from my truck there is a 3rd vacuum line out of the bottom right of the black valve that goes to the bottom of the EGR. I borrowed the other pic from Rock auto.
