Wierd Transfer Case Noise.........
I have this very very very slight sound coming from what I believe to be at the TC , the noise increases on deceleration even when rolling in neutral. But stops when I come to a hault.
I put the ol' girl up on jack stands and put it in drive....wow was the noise louder now! But I was able to zone in on the noise area....some have told me to replace the "rear output seal" between the rear drives aft and Transfer Case....could in be a bearing in there? Because that's what it sounds like, just not sure if there are bearings in there or what?
please help this is my daily driver!

There is a snap-ring on the rear output shaft that likes to work it's way loose, and allow the shaft to 'walk'..... If not attended to, this little problem will end up causing the t-case to grenade, and leave you sitting on the side of the road. It's an easy check though, just drop the rear driveshaft, pull the tailshaft housing, and there it is. Or not. Do a search on "Transfer case saver". It will tell you everything you need to know.
