Question Turn signal indicator light when headlights are on

Hey guys! 1998 Dodge Ram 1500, 5.2L
When I turn on the headlight switch, even on parking lights, the left turn signal indicator on the dash comes on steady. It doesn't stop the left turn signal from working though. Also, the left turn signal flashes fast, the right is ok. I replaced both front and rear bulbs, but no help. I also re-grounded the rear light, but it didn't change anything.
I fixed the wipers on with headlights problem, now I have this new problem.

Anyone else ever have this problem? I'm trying to get the truck ready for inspection, but these problems are kinda driving me a little buggy.

Many thanks in advance, guys. I figure with all the second gen trucks out there, someone had this problem and found a solution.

Thanks again guys!

Pull both, front and rear brake/ taillight bulbs. Try it again.
Put one back it at a time, try it again.
Tell us what happens.

Hey dbbd1, tried what you said. Pulled both out, tried headlights, no indicator light. Installed rear bulb, no indicator light. Pulled rear bulb out, installed front. Tried headlights, indicator light came on. Am I looking at a bad ground for the front turn signal socket or something?

Check the bulb first. Might just be blown.

Or installed wrong. Look at the bulb, it has two nubs on the cylindrical part. One nub is closer to the base than the other. It is an indexing thing but can be put in wrong and once done, it's easier the second time.

Got it figured out. The turn signal pigtail had a bad ground. Re-ground it, that fixed the problem. Took me a while to get back at the truck, what with all the rain here in the Northeast. Sucks to not have a garage...

Thanks guys for all the info! Greatly appreciated!!!

Look at it this way, if you are working out in the rain, you won't have to take another shower when you are done.

Glad ya got it fixed.
